Surrounding neighbourhoods faced a sudden and disruptive power outage last night that left hundreds of homes in the dark due to a powerful storm that swept through the area, knocking down multiple power transmission towers.
The tower, which plays a vital role in delivering electricity to several neighborhoods, came crashing down around 9:00 PM local time, triggering a widespread blackout that lasted well into the night.
Restoration Efforts Underway
By early morning, the teams were deployed to access the damage and begin repairs. A full recovery may take up to 24–48 hours, depending on weather and repair logistics.

Staying Safe and Informed
Officials are urging residents to avoid downed power lines, and conserve battery power.
Here are a few safety reminders:
- Remain indoors during powerful storms
- Do not approach or attempt to move fallen wires or damaged poles
- Limit phone use to emergencies to preserve battery life.
